Fresh out of Digital Media Technology program at University, I wanted to test my newfound skillset, flex my creativity and have an outlet for writing. For years I had thrown around the idea of a blog in the same style as
Pat's Fantasy Hotlist, but never really knew how to go about it. When I was able to procure an early copy of Terry Brooks'
The Elves of Cintra (through involvement with his web site), I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to launch the blog with an early review of a big release.
Boy did I have little idea what I was getting myself into!
18 months later,
A Dribble of Ink has grown bigger than I ever imagined. At first I was simply happy to have a place to write about something I love, as a way to carry an ongoing dialogue about my thoughts and opinions on all things Fantasy related. As the days passed by and more and more people started reading my rambling nonsense, I realized I had something important on my hands and that it was time to take things a little more seriously. To that end, I strive to constantly improve
A Dribble of Ink and hopefully one day earn my place among the heavy hitters of the SF blogosphere.
Since starting
A Dribble of Ink, I've had the opportunity to work with many of my literary heroes including Joe Abercrombie, Robin Hobb, Terry Brooks, Steven Erikson, Patrick Rothfuss and many others. Hell, even Neil Gaiman linked to my blog in 2008! Talk about a head swelling moment!
All in all,
A Dribble of Ink has come to consume me in a most delightful way and I hope it will continue to do so for years to come.
