PostSubject: Updates and some newsworthy stuff! :-)   Thu Mar 12, 2009 3:18 pm

Wellohwellohwell time flies! I've been concentrating so much on keeping up content-wise on the blog that I've neglected this very cool pozzie! (Let me teach you some South African slang here - place = pozzie. The 'o' is the same kind of sound a cork makes when it is released from the bottle!)

So I'm back (ooh that reminds me, I've got to add another SWs review to starwarsbuddies too) and hopefully this'll update everyone on what's been happening. :-)

Or not. :-)

The very first, most important thing - I've changed the blog's theme! It looks really spiffy and cool and nice now. :-) Go ahead, you know you want to have a look... I won't tell, promise! :-)

After Watchmen, my first post detailed the (un)official release of the blurb to Karen Traviss' eagerly awaited (believe me, read the Republic Commando series of Star Wars books she wrote and you'll be eager, too) first book in the Imperial Commando series, 501st. I am beyond excited for this! :-)

After that was an apology - the internet line here went down for a while, so I wasn't able to update the blog. :-) (You didn't miss anything, promise)

Then we were into March already, and the next post was...

News of George RR Martin's absolutely brilliant, bad@$$ epic A Game of Thrones': just an
update about the HBO Pilot that I saw on Pat's blog, followed to Winter is Coming, and reposted on my own blog. You'll have to forgive me for being so excited - I've just recently discovered GRRM and I'm reading A Clash of Kings at the moment. :-)

Next up came of my review The Modern World by Steph Swainston - if you haven't yet read this lady's work, do yourself a favour! Very good, and very different!

Next up, a post with more Star Wars news than anything else - but if you want to try and create the cover to that fantasy or sci-fi novel you've never written, check out the link and follow the instructions! :-)

And then (drumroll please) MORE Star Wars news! :-) Hehehe c'mon, I'm the biggest fan I know! :-)

Then I posted the
awesome news from Peter V Brett (now outdated) about him finishing the first draft of The Desert Spear (it's going to be such an awesome book!)!

Then I changed to a new theme, which was awesome but buggered up my sidepanel (just ask the World Walker, Mark), and thankfully that has vanished so I don't have to embarress myself by linking back to it! :-)

Next up was my big post for the month - my review of Watchmen: The Movie! (Loved it, Loved it, Loved it!)

And then came the best news! The release of The Warded Man!

We then had the wonderful news from the folks at Angry Robot! And it's really, really cool because there's an excellent South African author in there! :-)

And last but not least, my review of the crazy-good first book in James Barclay's Chronicles of the Raven series, Dawnthief! READ IT! Awesome stuff!

What will I have coming up? Well, in the next week, week and a half I'll have my review of A Madness of Angels (sublime), which will then be followed by Empress (my first Karen Miller ever, and I LIKE EEET!), and then an interview with Michael J Sullivan!

I'll try to keep my updates here more regular, but rap me over the knuckles anyway if they aren't! :-)
