Basically, it is set in an original world I've created myself named Sekiya (a combination of houseki, which is Japanese for "gem", and joya, which is Spanish for "gem") In Sekiya, magic is built around the twelve gemstones of the Earth calendar--and most beings usually wield around one to six different powers. I haven't seriously started on another project. I might do some short stories while I query. The novel I'm querying is called Starcaster, and is a sort of steampunk spy fantasy, although without the punk. It takes place in a fictional world roughly equivalent to 1810 London. It's inspired equally by Jane Austen and James Bond. Imagine Elizabeth Bennet taking on communist spies, wielding a revolver and sneaking around at night in black clothing. ...
