| The Book Depository is a wonderful online book seller (based in the UK) that does FREE INTERNATIONAL POSTAGE! I cannot say how impressed I have been with them, living in Australia, buying books from Amazon can be almost as expensive as buying them in a shop. The Book Depository has prices around 1/3 to nearly 1/2 cheaper (depending on exchange rate of course). The books are individually posted, and take between 1-2 weeks to arrive (I have used them to send books to NZ, and they take 1/2 a week longer to arrive there). They definitely have more recently published books in stock, older books can be a bit hit and miss. I think they purchase a certain amount, and once it's out of stock, it's out of stock. I don't think the free international postage is to every country in the world, but its worth checking to see if your country is on the list. I know they have a couple of distribution points in the US as well as the UK.

Hi madscientstnz, I live in Germany and therefore I can order at Amazon.de and inside Germany it is free of charge. Beside this I use AbeBooks in case I cna't get a book from Amazon. I don't whether you know AbeBooks - Australia & New Zealand or not. Maybe this interesting for you. Anyway it's great to meet you here. The Dragon Federation is getting a real international place.

Yeah, if your country has an Amazon and you get the free postage, then I guess you won't be as excited about this as I was. I've looked at a few Australian based online booksellers and their prices often can't compare with the Book Depository, and none of the ones I've found do free postage in Australia. Prices are probably higher because they already have factored in getting the book physically to Australia before they can sell it. Abebooks and biblio.com are great for hard to find books, I have to restrict how much I use them or I'd have a lot of books and no money!

Love the Book Depository for importing UK books into the US. Never had a problem. And the free international shipping is a godsend. And it usually only takes a week to arrive. You can't beat that.

madscientistnz and Paul, there is one sad thing concerning the Book Depository: They don't deliver to Romania and Bulgaria. I know some people there and they have problems to get deliveries with low or free charge. Do you know bookshops - beside Amazon - who deliver to these countries? Thanks in advance for your help

Australia doesn't have its own Amazon? That's kind of insane, don't you think? What with the huge boom of Australian and New Zealand-ian authors out there right now...

Australia may not have an Amazon but it does have an eBay! I'm was surprised by how many authors I'd heard of who turned out to be Australian, but which authors are New Zealander's? I'm a New Zealander but haven't lived there for nearly 4 years, it can be difficult to keep in touch with what's going on.

Unfortunately, I have to stay with Amazon, because for the moment The Book Depository doesn't deliver in Romania (as edifanob said). But maybe in the future I could benefit from it
